Founded in 2017 during the early stages of cannabis legalization, we focus on the production and distribution of THC-containing cannabis products for medical use. We hold all necessary regulatory approvals to cultivate, process, and distribute medical cannabis at the highest level. These include authorization for the cultivation of medical cannabis with high THC content, approval for handling narcotics, a license for the production of pharmaceuticals in compliance with EU-GMP standards, and authorization for wholesale distribution to Swiss pharmacies, as well as import and export under GDP regulations. All approvals have been issued by Swissmedic, ensuring that we meet the strictest pharmaceutical and regulatory requirements. Our GMP-certified production facility meets the strictest pharmaceutical standards and enables fully integrated processing of medical cannabis – from controlled cultivation and processing to packaging and distribution. The facility was commissioned in 2022 and features a cleanroom environment that ensures the highest quality and product safety. In 2023, we received GMP certification from Swissmedic, and our operational site is regularly inspected and supervised by Swissmedic.

Medical Cannabis
On August 1, 2022, a legal amendment came into effect in Switzerland, allowing the cultivation, production, processing, and export of cannabis for medical purposes. This amendment legally regulates medical cannabis and places it under the approval and control procedures of Swissmedic. Doctors can now prescribe medical cannabis, giving thousands of patients easier access to medical cannabis preparations in pharmacies. This primarily affects cases of cancer or multiple sclerosis, where the active ingredient THC can help relieve chronic pain. This has established the foundation for a regulated and legal market for medical cannabis in Switzerland.
The market for medical cannabis is experiencing strong global growth. More than 45 countries have legalized cannabis for medical purposes, with many others in the process of legalization. As a result, the global medical cannabis market is becoming one of the most attractive future industries. Since 2017, medical cannabis has been approved in Germany and other European countries and is prescribed to patients on prescription. With the legal amendment in Switzerland on August 1, 2022, swisscann tec now has the opportunity to export medical cannabis to other countries.
